  • Click here to see a list of our books that youth always want, with a preferred purchase link. Have it shipped to us at 1249 Portage St. Unit 2A.
  • LED Lightbulbs in colors and soft white and LED string lights. We are doing our best to switch over for the environment and our consumer's energy cost.
  • Snacks: If you bring it, it will be eaten. We love apples, easy to eat fruit, seaweed, fruit snacks, beef jerky, Clif bars and protein bars. Beef jerky and seaweed are current favorites!
  • Emergency Hygiene Products: menstruation pads, tampons, deodorant, body wipes, toothbrushes, toothpaste.
  • Mechanical pencils.
  • Electric Pencil Sharpener.
  • Clipboards. We always need them.
  • Safe folding ladder (at least 8 feet).
  • Nice journals - preferably not used. Every youth wants to feel special.
  • Usable art supplies. This means paints that aren't dried out, markers, surfaces, etc. Canvasses are a huge hit!
  • Pregnancy tests.
  • Small giftcards you're not going to use. We're not a basic needs center, AND, it means a lot when we can give a youth access to something before we can refer them to Loaves and Fishes or another agency.
  • Computer - preferred to be 2016 or newer.
  • Glitter

During this pandemic we will not be taking any new volunteers. Thank you for understanding. Below is our form for post-pandemic.

Fire relies on the village and community to keep building a youth-driven space for art and justice in the Edison Neighborhood. Thank you for offering your support in the past and now!

Curious how you can help us? The work we do requires the hands and hearts of many volunteers. If you have the skills, the time, or the resources (or any combination of those things) we know just how you can fit into the Fire community! Fill out the application below, and we'll be in touch.

Things people think we want but we do not have room for right now:

  • Used or open hygiene products.
  • Magazines. No more, please! We are good on Oprah. No one collages this much!
  • Regular pens and pencils - we're doing ok.
  • Please do not give any opened snacks or candy.
  • We are good on First Aid Kits!
